Welcome to one of America's iconic cities - Saint Louis, a name that originates from a 17th-century French king and is a blend of Louis and 'the' or saint as he was often known by. In today's day and age, the term has undergone several changes. With its strategic position in Missouri's center, Saint Louis offers breathtaking views of the Mississippi River that stretches from its very beginning to New Orleans' doorstep. Today, tourists who venture here discover many landmarks of a time when life moved slowly but significantly such as City Hall. Designed by architect Edmund Nickens Jr. around 1903, this stunningly grand neoclassical architectural work boasts Roman arches which echo through every detail. Visitors are awed by these masterful strokes as the grand columns proudly elevate to remind us that sometimes time seems to slow down even further. The history and tradition found within City Hall have inspired architects throughout their profession with their own ideas about this incredible city built for the most passionate hearts of the 20th century: men, women, families and countless children eager to pursue their dreams. Their works embody the eternal desire people around here show in each structure and all which stands in their memory. With this sense of purpose behind our history we celebrate these beautiful legacies so that a few more lives become touched with their own Saint Louis experience that touches hearts deeply long after they return home - back into lives filled by the warmth it shared among strangers yet kind souls living alongside one another within those iconic city walls of America's finest town, where all the pieces make up just part of the greater beauty found when community unites in their daily walk as each new generation inherits.
