sketchfab
St Giles-without-Cripplegate Church stands proudly within the Barbican, London, its stunning interior a testament to centuries past. Beneath its historic walls, hidden rooms reveal secrets of a bygone era, while a cutaway view showcases the church's majestic tower. This beautiful edifice sits at the heart of the post-war Barbican estate, with parts dating back to the 15th Century. The Cripplegate name originates from the long-lost Roman gateway that once stood nearby, marking the entrance to the City of London. For a closer look within the church, see the annotations. A special thank you goes out to Jake Kirner for his invaluable assistance and access to this historic site. In October 2019, 6333 photos were taken using a Sony a6000 camera, then processed with Agisoft Metashape and Reality Capture. The images were cleaned up and combined in Autodesk Maya, although some areas were reconstructed due to scanning errors, such as the pews and surrounding floor.
