St. Basil's Cathedral optimized
thingiverse
This is a remix of maxbaum's highly detailed St. Basil's Cathedral model (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1770574), which in turn is a remix of dodo2000's model (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:934192). The latter prints better, but misses some unnecessary details such as the ball tips of the towers. The former is more accurate, but not entirely printable. I was inspired by dodo2000's simplification and aimed to achieve higher fidelity while making the model printable. See pictures for changes I made. My modifications of maxbaum's model include: Fixed a hang-in-the-air unprintable pillar, beefing it up (the original pillar was too thin to be printed) Removed 9 unprintable crosses, keeping the ball tips intact Removed 10 unprintable overhangs For those perfectionists, the removed parts are on a separate plate and can be glued back to restore maximum fidelity. The model is approximately 195mm tall without the cross. Printing at this or larger scales is recommended. No support is needed. A layer height of 0.15mm or less is recommended to show all intricate details. The accessories must be printed at 0.1mm heights; otherwise, the crosses may not slice properly.
