This statue depicts Saint Barbara, an early Christian Greek martyr revered for her unwavering faith. Typically, she is shown carrying miniature shackles and standing beside a tower, as seen here. As one of the Fourteen Holy Intercessors, Barbara remains a widely recognized saint in contemporary times, often remembered as the patron saint of armorers, artillery personnel, military engineers, miners and others who handle explosives due to her historic association with lightning, and also of mathematicians.
