<p>Assembly Method:<br/> <figure class="media"> <oembed url="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0inVjUJHMuQ&amp;feature=youtu.be"></oembed> </figure> </p> <p>So we looked at what was out there and wanted to simplify current designs as much as possible, we also wanted to design for laser cutting so these can be mass produced.</p> <p>-Its laser cut so 100-1000 can be produced a day<br/> -We designed the parts to have as little waste as possible (28 shield on a 900x600 bed)<br/> -To be cut from 6mm Acrylic or PETG<br/> -Each set takes approx 3 minutes to cut but could be as little as a minute depending on your machine<br/> -Parts are suitably thick and strong for the lifetime of the product<br/> -We use a standard multi-punch set to 80mm centres to cut all 4 mounting holes at once<br/> -Assembly is super simple, the plastic sheeting pushes onto the 4 laser cut hooks and is difficult to remove<br/> -The elastic fabric simply slots into the laser cut slots, meaning no nots and simply pull it to adjust (because of the way the elastic is pulled while on the head it cannot be pulled out easily)</p> <p>Parts we used:</p> <p>-6mm (1/4" Imperial) Acrylic or PETG<br/> -Multi-Punch set to 80mm (3.14 inch apart) hole centers -<a href="https://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/j-burrows-4-hole-punch-black-jb4hpunch">https://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/j-burrows-4-hole-punch-black-jb4hpunch</a><br/> -Elastic fabric 6-8mm (1/4" imperial) works best <a href="https://www.spotlightstores.com/sewing-fabrics/haberdashery/elastics/birch-braided-elastic/BP80211313">https://www.spotlightstores.com/sewing-fabrics/haberdashery/elastics/birch-braided-elastic/BP80211313</a><br/> -250 micron A4 (US letter) front clear binder covers <a href="https://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/gbc-a4-pvc-binding-covers-250-micron-clear-100-pack-co25clr100">https://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/gbc-a4-pvc-binding-covers-250-micron-clear-100-pack-co25clr100</a><br/> -Optional corner rounding punch for the binder covers <a href="https://www.spotlightstores.com/craft-hobbies/paper-craft/cutting-tools/punches/fiskars-corner-lever-rounder-punch/BP80295455">https://www.spotlightstores.com/craft-hobbies/paper-craft/cutting-tools/punches/fiskars-corner-lever-rounder-punch/BP80295455</a><br/> -Scissors &amp; ruler</p> <p>Notes: for the clear binder covers we found 250 micron thick sheets to work best or (200 micron), but you may get away with 100 micron if that's all that is available.</p> <h3>Print instructions</h3><p>A video tutorial can be found here</p> <p> <figure class="media"> <oembed url="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0inVjUJHMuQ&amp;feature=youtu.be"></oembed> </figure> </p> <p>for those of you that like to read..</p> <ol> <li><p>Laser cut the files individually or as a sheet supplied. Our laser settings were (60 power 10 speed RD Works) yours could be different</p> </li> <li><p>Cut a 400mm (15.7" piece of elastic fabric)</p> </li> <li><p>Pull the fabric to make it thinner while sliding it into the slots on both sides of the top frame</p> </li> <li><p>Take your A4 (US Letter) cover sheet and punch the 4 holes on both of the longest sides. Set the holes 80mm (3.14") apart.</p> </li> <li><p>Round the corner using a corner punch if required</p> </li> <li><p>Take the laser cut top frame and push the hooks through the A4 cover sheet</p> </li> <li><p>Take the laser cut bottom frame (if required) and push the hooks through the punched holes</p> </li> <li><p>Place on your head and pull the elastic ribbon to adjust</p> </li> </ol> <p>We suggest for transport leave do everything except adding the A4 sheet</p>
