SSD Mount 2.5 to 3.5 Adapter
thingiverse
After scouring the web in search of a reliable SSD mount, we decided to roll up our sleeves and create one from scratch. We needed a solution that would be quick to print, affordable, and incredibly easy to use. To achieve this, we opted for a single-sided design, which means you'll need to print two pieces to complete the assembly. This streamlined approach eliminates the hassle of matching sets, allowing you to simply grab two printed parts and get started right away. This ingenious mount seamlessly converts 2.5 SSD drives into 3.5-inch standard HD sizes, making it perfect for use in any setup where a traditional hard drive is required. **7-7-2016 Update:** We've revised the file to make it more symmetrical, and also added a nested version that should simplify printing. Additionally, we've uploaded various file versions created using Fusion 360, which was our go-to design tool for this project. Print Settings: Printer Brand: RepRap Printer: Folger Prusa i3 Rafts: No Resolution: .27 Infill: 0 (we reinforced the walls with extra material to eliminate the need for infill) Notes: Our test print was done at a relatively fast speed of 120mm/s, resulting in a slightly rough finish. However, given its intended purpose as a computer housing component, this level of quality is more than sufficient.
