SSD Holder for Macbook Pro
thingiverse
My MacBook boasts a 512GB hard drive, but it fell short of meeting my needs. The hard drives compatible with MacBooks are extremely pricey, and I'd be stuck with a 512 GB SSD that wouldn't fit. I recently acquired a trio of prints designed to be placed end-to-end, which would perfectly span the width of my MacBook Pro, accommodating the SSD case I purchased. This setup also serves as a riser, elevating the laptop for more comfortable typing and improved airflow. While I've only been using this arrangement briefly, it seems to be functioning satisfactorily so far. However, please exercise caution when employing this solution, as you assume all risks associated with potential overheating, cable failure, or other issues that might arise. Here are the items I used: The drive I selected: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B073SB2MXT/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 The enclosure I purchased: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07BK36KTH/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 The USB cable I chose: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B019V0QGKM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I used these 3M Command Picture Hanging Strips (4 on each piece, 2 on the MacBook and 2 on the part) to attach it to my MacBook, then secured them together with velcro: https://www.amazon.com/Command-Damage-Free-Picture-Decorate-17206BLK-ES/dp/B00404YO1I/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=3m+command+velcro+black&qid=1555168467&s=gateway&sr=8-3
