SS40 or SS41 Hall Effect Sensor Housing

thingiverse

This housing is specifically designed for use with SS40 or SS41 type Hall Effect Position Sensors, and it will also accommodate other sensors featuring a similar package style. The sensors in question are encased in a small transistor-like package that can be notoriously tricky to mount. This housing enables the sensor to be soldered to one end of a 5 mm diameter cable before being slid into the housing and secured in place with glue, if desired. Magnetic flux is directed through a window located on the face of the housing, which serves as the point where magnetic flux is applied. The 5 mm cable should fit snugly within the housing, effectively holding the sensor in its pocket without requiring additional adhesive. Before inserting the sensor into the housing, a small drop of glue or hot glue can be used to prevent the three wires from coming into contact with one another and shorting out. This housing is suitable for printing in PLA, while harsher environments may require ABS or PETG materials.
