SS OhNo

SS OhNo is a nautical-themed model that showcases balance and center of mass. Perched atop an Octopus base, the SS OhNo vessel teeters precariously as its captain, a hungry shark, tattered sail, and bird oscillate fore and aft with gentle pressure applied to the boat's anchor. Among Autodesk Fusion 360's advanced features, one that caught my attention is center of mass. It works simply by selecting "Center of Mass" from the "Inspect" menu and then choosing all components to include in the calculation. Fusion 360 displays a center of mass icon at the calculated point with stunning clarity. For this model to balance successfully, I knew the center of mass had to be at or below the keel cylinders, yet Fusion 360 indicated it was slightly above this mark. To counteract this discrepancy, I designed the anchor to incorporate additional weight in the form of BBs, fine modeling sand, or similar heavy materials within a container. As always, I likely forgot some files or made other mistakes, so please don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions. Designed using Autodesk Fusion 360 and sliced with Cura 2.5, this model was printed in PLA on an Ultimaker 2+ Extended and an Ultimaker 3 Extended.
