KENSINGTON COURT set sail in 1927 as a robust British Steam Cargo Vessel, boasting an impressive 4,863 tons and expertly crafted by Napier & Miller Old Kilpatrick. Equipped with a powerful steam engine, she was a single screw steamer that commanded respect on the high seas. Initially owned by United British SS Co (halden & Philipps Ltd) London, she later fell into the hands of COURT Line Ltd in 1936. On September 18th, 1939, KENSINGTON COURT was en route from Rosario to Liverpool, carrying a massive 8,000 tons of cereals when her journey was abruptly cut short by gunfire from German submarine U-32 between the Fastnet and Bishops Rock. The wreckage now lies approximately 120km off Ireland's south coast, measuring 116.5m x 23m at a staggering depth of 102m.
