Design research on 4 stroke combustion engine valve timing is underway, focusing on a novel approach that replaces the traditional camshaft with a cam ring. Two iterations have been developed, each offering potential for further refinement and modification. The first design features a belt-driven cam ring, while the second utilizes a set of oil-dipped balls traveling through a channel to drive the cam ring.
