Squizzle! A No Supports Squirrel Sculpt

Squizzle! A No Supports Squirrel Sculpt

pinshape

Squizzle is a squirrel holding an acorn that's part of a quick sculpt I crafted from a more intricate squirrel rig in the works (a squirrely doll design). It's one piece of an experiment to push the limits on how many models can be derived from a single rig. This Squizzle prints without any supports, which is a major triumph. His height measures 130mm, making him detailed enough for scaling up, although you might need some support for the acorn's base if you go too large. He should also hold up well when scaled down. The Squizzles featured here were printed using Polyalchemy PLA in Elixir Crimson Red, Elixir Purple Rain, and Elixir Gold - all of which can be found at polyalchemy.com. Squizzle was sculpted within Blender. The Squizzles shown were printed with a .02 layer height, 15% infill, and 2 perimeters. Each took approximately three hours to complete.
