Squirrel Piggy Bank (coin bank)
thingiverse
This is a coin bank that doubles as a squirrel, with its coin slot cleverly located at the top of its bushy tail. A sliding door at the bottom allows users to empty it out easily. I've uploaded two versions - one features custom meshmixer-generated supports added to the chin for extra stability. On my machine, the best results were achieved with these custom supports and nothing else. In fact, additional support was not necessary on the inside of the model, at least not with my machine. If you're having trouble printing 60-degree overhangs cleanly or 70-degree overhangs messily, I recommend using more supports. When you open these files in Repetier, it might alert you to a non-manifold issue. But don't worry - they sliced perfectly fine for me using standalone Prusa Slic3r. Here are the print settings that worked well: Printer: Prusa i3 Mk2 Rafts: Doesn't matter Resolution: 0.2mm Infill: 15% Notes: It took my printer a whopping 11 hours to complete this job, but the end result was well worth it.
