Print specifications include two shells, fifteen percent infill with no supports used. Material employed is PLA, although PC-ISO (Polycarbonate Iso or Ultem) is recommended for high heat applications. Initially, the component was printed in PLA, utilizing two shells and 15% infill as a test of its capabilities at low temperatures. As PLA does not perform well under high heat conditions, this printer tested its limits near a bathroom's heat lamp. The final product was fabricated using PC-ISO on a commercial-grade Fortus 400mc machine. Settings for the final print included solid fill and dissolvable SR-100 supports, with a layer height of 0.010 inches. Total printing time took approximately ten hours to complete.
