Squirrel Cage fan
thingiverse
I wanted the High Speed Turbine (1102656) so I created some questions about squirrel cage fans. That led me to design this custom housing and several new squirrel fan prototypes to test.\nThe housing attaches securely to the main stage just like the fan itself\nA New Volute was added, slightly narrower to minimize the end gap with the fan, and closer at the start for optimal alignment.\nMultiple fans were designed with different numbers of blades and an offset, with one being a perfect mirror image of the other. These fans spin in the CCW direction.\nPrinting Details\nPrint Method:\nThe Print-Rite DIY 3D printer is being used.\nBuild Parameters\nRaft Usage:\nNo raft will be used\nSupport Generation:\nYes, supports will be generated to ensure successful prints. Note that fan prints can often get away with minimal or no support.\nNotes and Considerations:\nPosition the housing with the outlet opening facing upwards on the printing table to ensure easy access and proper alignment.
