Squirclemorph3-1
thingiverse
This is a combination of the techniques I used for https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5442325 and https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5425957, plus I changed the 3 feet to a fancier twisted design. Here is a 16 second video that gives a better perception of the final result: https://youtube.com/shorts/J7zPFuIcSH4?feature=share When I finished this design I wasn't sure it would print at all because it is a torture test for any printer's ability to handle bridges, thin structures, and stringing. During printing the ribs actually flexed while each section got it's next layer printed. But after a bit more than 7 3/4 hours ii did finish printing OK using my standard settings of 100 mm/sec and 2.03 mm layer height. It did require a bit of manual cleanup, but this was easy to do. So I figured why not post it. Just be aware that this is a tough one for any printer. I am going to make SquircleMorph3-2. It will be easier to print because I'll make the ribs thicker and add more holes (they are actually filleted Voronoi patches) so the bridging lengths are shorter. And I think I'll make the 3 feet larger so they are more in scale with the upper part of the design.
