A system for securing in place is being developed, inspired by the functionality of rawlplugs that are inserted into the end of a square tube. This fixing device is characterized by its design - a filleted square plug featuring a tapered hexagonal hole, specifically engineered to securely hold a nut. As I have used parametric design software, changes to nut size, tube size, and taper can be made with ease through simple parameter adjustments. It marks my first project using FreeCAD, and although not the most refined design, it serves as a great starting point. Given its current form, this solution is not likely to exhibit superior strength, but it should adequately suffice for a purpose such as constructing a 3D printer frame.
