Square Textured Box with Hinged Lid
thingiverse
I was searching for a way to safeguard some D&D Miniatures during travel or shipping. That's when I stumbled upon this box with a lid and another one featuring texture, which sparked an idea to merge them together. By scaling down the textured box to fit a 40x40x40mm interior volume, I was able to merge the top and bottom sections seamlessly. I repurposed the box with the lid as the foundation for building a new lid, along with using it as the base for creating hinges. To serve as the hinge rod, I opted to use a piece of 1.75mm filament instead of a brass rod. You may need to drill out the holes slightly, but I found that a 5/64" drill bit worked perfectly. As you can see, with the right dimensions, this customized box can accommodate up to four miniatures at once, making it incredibly convenient.
