Read more about this on my website: https://prinsfrank.nl/2021/02/13/Destructuring-the-muqarnas-of-Shah-I-Zinda Muqarnas are a type of ornamented vaulting in Islamic architecture. These models are heavily based on the paper "A METHODOLOGY FOR STUDYING MUQARNAS: THE EXTANT EXAMPLES IN PALERMO" by Vincenza Garofalo, with some extra elements added. Not all elements described in the paper are added yet, but I will add some more in the future when they are requested or when I need them. There are 3 types of muqarnas, as described by Shiro Takahashi on http://www.shiro1000.jp/muqarnas/ ; - The square style is made up of geometric elements, and is what these models fall under - The pole table style is made of surface decorated panels attached to a substructure attached to the ceiling - The carved style which speaks for itself The paper describes elements in the Eastern and Western Islamic style. The main difference is that the arches in the western style are composed of a quarter of a circle, where the eastern arches are composed of a section that starts with a 45 degree angle, followed by an 8th of a circle. If there is demand I can also create models for the eastern style. Naming of elements follows the naming scheme from André Paccard, transliterated to Spanish by Roberta Giunta.
