In this project, the objective was to fashion a stylish square ring from 3D acrylic using a laser engraver. Having a preference for rings, I chose a ring size of 9 and employed Autodesk Inventor software for designing purposes. The innovative design involved layering two clear sheets of acrylic with one red sheet in between, creating an opacity effect that varies from different angles. A 40-watt Epilog Engraver was utilized with vector cutting settings at 12% speed, 100% power and 5000 Hz frequency. After cutting the acrylic layers (two clear and one red), they were clamped and bonded together using acrylic glue to complete the ring.
