Square Rack Mount
pinshape
I've been designing things for about 4 or 5 months now, and this project has been the longest one so far. I made a square rack mount that attaches some things to my marimba's rack. Not all square racks have the same dimensions, but it works on Yamaha and Pearl square racks because I've used Pearl mounts on Yamaha racks before (and currently). I wouldn't put anything heavy on these mounts: 1 because they're plastic and 2 because they hang over my marimba. In the files are the two pieces to make the mount and some attachments that fit on it. I haven't printed all of the attachments yet, but I'm confident they should work fine. If you have any problems, just let me know! Print Settings: Printer Brand: Robo 3D Printer: R1 ABS + PLA Model Rafts: Yes Supports: Yes Resolution: always high Infill: 40% Notes: More infill might be a good idea. The bottom half of the mount only needs supports, while the top requires a raft and support. For the GoPro and cowbell attachments, a raft and support are also needed. I've only printed the GoPro little guy attachment, but I'm confident the rest will work. I'm currently designing faster than I can print, and I'm excited to post this online. The only one with a different base that I designed is the tray; it shouldn't need a raft, maybe just support, but I haven't printed it yet. My plan is to add more attachments over time. Assembly: After removing rafts and supports, you'll need three bolts and nuts. A 2-inch long, 1/4-thick bolt connects the top and bottom pieces, while two 2 1/2-inch long, 1/4-thick bolts tighten the mount around the square rack and attach the attachments. It's not difficult to put together; if you need more help, just let me know, and I'll make a video.
