Print out one egg-shaped object. Fill in one uncooked egg. Secure lid tightly. Boil for 3 to 5 minutes, as desired. Surprise your spouse with breakfast in bed featuring homemade hard-boiled eggs. (No need to mention the printing part!) Have you ever thought about directly printing with egg yolk or egg white? Eggs solidify at a low temperature of around 45 degrees Celsius. Correction: Egg whites consist of two types of protein: albumin and conalbumin. Conalbumin begins to solidify at 61.5°C, and albumin at 84.5°C. Yolk starts to firm up at 65°C. To create unique egg shapes, aim for a temperature range of 60-80 degrees Celsius for printing. Or why not go all the way and print with calcium, creating eggs in any shape you desire? This could potentially put an end to mass poultry factories. For accurate sizing, adjust the egg volume in your OpenSCAD file based on local egg sizes. For example, large eggs in America (46ml) correspond to medium eggs in Europe. Enjoy your homemade boiled eggs!
