I wanted an easy way to thread metal rod or complete partially threaded bolts but since I didn't want to clamp down my round dies into my vise and risk damaging them, I decided to make a square holder to be clamped securely into my vise and then I would use my drill on low gear to power thread. This design uses 2 M4 screws and nuts as well as a 4mm stainless steel metal rod (preferably) to hold the die securely in place. I tried it putting an M8 screw on a stainless steel rod and it worked perfectly! Just don't overtighten the screws as you risk damaging the holder, finger tight should be enough.
