SQ12 Lightweight Case
thingiverse
Lightweight case for Quelima SQ12 camera. Stock case weighs around 9 grams, but this one made from TPU saves at least 5 grams by eliminating infrared LEDs. Camera fits snugly into case via dense foam lens surround cut from random rc product packing material and dremeled to fit perfectly. Battery inserted into back of case, then carefully worked into place with camera board and foam. Flexibility of TPU allows easy access around protruding "usb" connector jack. Micro memory card must be installed after camera assembly. Friction fit of foam holds assembly snug but may come loose with hard crash. Hole at back of case aids in removal by prying camera board out with a wood stir stick while pushing from the back. Be careful handling fragile ribbon and delicate microphone that sits on side of foam, can be tucked behind or removed if not needed. Mounting tab on bottom is 17mm wide and 6mm tall, may need editing to suit your application, especially when using hot pin to poke a hole for 2mm screw in TPU material. Different lens used due to whitewash issue with stock one. Have fun building your case!
