The SQ11 Mini DV is an incredibly compact and manageable camera that delivers impressive video quality, making it the perfect choice for R/C models. Unfortunately, its front cast metal unit adds significant weight, which can be a major drawback when used in smaller airplanes or copters where lightweight components are essential. Determined to optimize its performance, I replaced the metal part with a custom-designed ABS printed component, resulting in an astonishing 8.8g weight reduction - a staggering 45% decrease in total weight. Fortunately, all other parts remained unaffected by this modification, allowing for seamless integration and minimal disruption. Furthermore, I drilled additional holes into the original case to facilitate improved air circulation, thereby extending the lifespan of its electronic components.
