SQ11 and SQ12 mount for micro quadcopters

thingiverse

This is a mount for the rather craptacular SQ11 or SQ12 cameras, both of which are extremely affordable and lightweight, weighing in at just 11 grams. They currently offer the best option for recording 720p footage on a micro quadcopter. I personally use one of these mounts on my 118mm quad with 1103 10000kv motors. The angle is set to 25 degrees, but it can be adjusted by modifying the OpenSCAD file. The mount should be printed using a flexible material like Ninjaflex to ensure a tight fit. In the photos above, the SQ11 camera has been modified with a wide-angle lens that includes an IR blocking filter to enhance image quality. Note: The SQ12 weighs around 15 grams, but two solid metal pieces near the lens can be removed to save about 3 grams. Removing the IR LED board also saves another 0.5 gram.
