This model serves as a vital reference point for the creation of an accurate 3D representation. The 3D model was generated using photogrammetry software, specifically 3DF Zephyr v4.523, which processed 1133 high-definition images captured from both an iPhone and a camera video (both boasting 1080p resolution). The Marder, meaning "marten" in German, is a battle-hardened infantry fighting vehicle that has been the primary arsenal of the Panzergrenadiere (mechanized infantry) within the German Army since the 1970s. As part of Germany's post-war effort to rebuild its armoured fighting vehicle industry, the Marder has demonstrated remarkable durability and effectiveness as an infantry fighting vehicle design. Over time, it boasted a few distinctive features, including a fully remote machine gun stationed on the rear deck and strategically placed gun ports on the sides for infantry soldiers to engage targets from within the safety of their vehicle. However, in more recent upgrade packages, these unique elements have been either removed or significantly streamlined in order to bring the Marder into line with contemporary IFV design standards (the MG has since been repositioned as a coaxial gun, while the gun ports were sealed shut and reinforced for added protection). Today, the Marder is gradually being phased out by the more advanced Puma.
