Spun Aluminum Internal Beadlock Wheel
grabcad
This is a custom wheel design I created for a UTV, requiring ample space for oversized brakes and significant travel while maintaining bead pressure to prevent tires from slipping on the wheel, particularly at low pressures. The wheel measures 15 inches in diameter, with an 8 1/4-inch width, a 2-inch offset, and a 137mm four-lug bolt pattern. I envisioned the internal ring being crafted from PLA via 3D printing, utilizing three outer layers and 30% infill density. In contrast, the outer wheel component would be fabricated from A356 cast aluminum, while the inner rim would be spun from 6061 aluminum. I extend my gratitude to Per Hassel Sørensen for his adaptable air valve design that I modified slightly to accommodate this custom setup, specifically the Bicycle Air Valve "Schrader." Additionally, I'd like to thank Pavel for collaborating on a Yokohama Geolander tire modification, as well as the team at McMaster for providing essential hardware components.
