The Spruance-class destroyers offer high accuracy as they are constructed with close attention to scale, resulting in a lifelike appearance when rendered without the need for special software. A plethora of animatable features is included, such as rudders, propellers, radar antennas, guns, missile launchers, and more. High-resolution textures enable detailed close-ups. Originally modeled in 3ds Max 2013, these models can be accessed in multiple formats. Designed to protect Carrier Task forces from submarine threats, the first Spruance-class destroyer was commissioned in 1975 and served for three decades before being phased out in favor of the Arleigh Burke class. The final Spruance-class vessel was decommissioned in 2005 after not being upgraded due to age.
