The detailed destroyer models are built nearly to scale, providing an authentic representation of the original ship. They look realistic and render well without requiring special software. Animated features include rudders, propellers, radar antennas, guns, missile launchers, missiles, hanger doors, and more. High-resolution textures enable close-up renders, and the models were designed in 3ds Max 2013. Note that variations from original design criteria may not be available for every ship within a class. The models come in various formats and are based on the Spruance Destroyer Class, designed to protect Carrier Task forces against submarine warfare. Commissioned in 1975, these ships served for three decades before being replaced by newer Arleigh Burke Class Destroyers, with the last Spruance decommissioned in 2005.
