Sprite Ribbon Cable Support and Filament Runout Sensor Mount
prusaprinters

After upgrading my Ender 3 Pro to the Sprite Pro hotend/extruder combo, I wanted to find a better way to support the cable and keep it out of the way. All the solutions I found out there had the ribbon getting mounted to the original extruder location, which put a lot of twist stress on the ribbon cable right above the connector, and that didn't seem viable as a long term solution to me. I also needed a place to relocate my Filament Runout Sensor. So I threw this design together, and after a few iterations, it is to the point that I am happy enough with it to share.

Additional hardware needed:
- 4x M3 nuts for the Filament Runout Sensor to attach to the mount
- 2x M3 8mm screws to replace two of the existing 6mm screws that hold the Y motor in place, to account for the additional thickness of the rear support bracket.

All models are designed to print in their current orientation without the need of supports, though some bridging will be required. I highly suggest using PETG, as PLA tends to be too brittle for the filament runout sensor's clip to work without snapping.

Additional cable clips (for the Filament Runout Sensor cable) pictured are from https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5476408

Additional Celtic knot design pictured is part of my Ender Dragon Cosplay Cable Chain https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/art/ender-3-pro-ender-dragon-cable-chain-and-celtic-braid-decorations
