The Bouncy Ball in Disguise! Materials Needed: A Single Printed Piece That Doubles as a Ball Hot Glue Gun The Printing Process: 1. Create a single print that is capable of transforming into a bouncy ball. My printer was used to produce the prints showcased here, utilizing default settings of 0.1mm layer height and .8mm shell thickness with no support or raft, made from PLA material. Assembling the Bouncy Ball: 1. Carefully detach the print from the build plate by working inward from the edges. 2. Place a small amount of hot glue on each corner, fold upwards, and hold it firmly in place. 3. Continue this process until two hemispheres are formed with their respective edges bonded together using glue. 4. Secure any gaps between the two hemispheres by applying glue to seal them shut. A Fun Experiment: For an interesting effect, I swapped out the filament at exactly 2.05mm while using a software plugin, allowing the protrusions of my design to change color in the middle section of each ball.
