Spring Thunder Sniper Barrel

<p>I saw the <a href="https://www.etsy.com/listing/682484230/sniper-barrel-attachment-spring-thunder?ref=shop_home_active_37&crt=1">sniper barrel </a>that GDop26 offers on <a href="https://www.etsy.com/shop/GDop26?ref=simple-shop-header-name&listing_id=682484230">his Etsy shop</a> but I wanted to make my own with some more cosmetic, and functional details. This is also MUCH cheaper and is a super easy print!</p><p>Just a disclaimer I got my spring thunder from <a href="https://www.frontlinefoam.com/product-category/spring-thunder/">FrontlineFoam</a> and my spring thunder has a few modifications to make it easier for them to assemble. </p><p>The tip on the 45cm/18in barrel sticks out quite a bit so you will want to make sure you have a protective tip on the front. I used an <a href="https://www.etsy.com/listing/947890803/turbine-modular-scar-barrel-system?ga_order=most_relevant&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_query=nerf+scar+barrel&ref=sr_gallery-1-9&organic_search_click=1">OldFusionDesings</a> turbine scar barrel with the 16mm collet. I really like that scar barrel and it works really well for my needs! It's also really nice that it doesn't require any extra hardware (besides the fishing string) and it is super easy to assemble.</p><p><strong>THIS WILL ONLY WORK WITH THE SINGLE DART SHELLS!!! NO OTHER SHELL IS COMPATIBLE!!! THE BARREL WILL STOP ALL OTHER PROJECTILE TYPES!!! </strong>If you want to use your other shells simply pull the pin and remove the barrel. The muzzle can remain on the blaster and then you are free to blast away with any normal shell.</p><p>I don't have a chronograph but this shoots lasers with short darts (<a href="https://www.walmart.com/ip/Adventure-Force-Tactical-Strike-100-Half-Length-Pro-Dart-Refill-Shoots-Over-125-FT/809673491">Adventure Force Pro darts</a>). so far I have also tested accustrike darts but they didn't make it through the barrel. I would guess that any wide-tipped dart wouldn't work then. In short use a dart with a narrower tip than the foam.</p><p> TESTED DART TYPES:</p><figure class="table"><table><tbody><tr><td>Dart type</td><td>Success? (y/n)</td><td>comments</td><td>would I recommend?</td></tr><tr><td>Adventure force pro</td><td>yes</td><td>Works really well!</td><td>Heck Yeah! :)</td></tr><tr><td>Genuine Accustrike</td><td>no</td><td>It came out of the shell but only went halfway through the barrel.</td><td>No I would not.</td></tr><tr><td>Standard Elite dart</td><td>yes</td><td>It came out of the barrel but did some crazy turns downrange! </td><td>I would not recommend.</td></tr><tr><td>Jet darts</td><td>yes</td><td>Worked great, flew straight. I have the blue Jet darts and the glue isn't the best so be prepared to lose a few darts! </td><td>sure.</td></tr><tr><td>Worker gen 2 (I think?)</td><td>yes</td><td>worked great, flew straight, I liked these!</td><td>yes!</td></tr><tr><td>Adventure force full length pro darts.</td><td>yes</td><td>It worked but nothing like the half lengths! half lengths are the way to go with this barrel.</td><td>yes.</td></tr></tbody></table></figure><p>All of the models require no support and the whole build requires little hardware. Here is the parts list for extra hardware:</p><figure class="table"><table><tbody><tr><td>Part</td><td>Link</td><td>Quantity</td></tr><tr><td>M3 x 10 screw</td><td>-----</td><td>x1</td></tr><tr><td>M3 hex nut (I used the one with the nylon seal)</td><td>-----</td><td>x1</td></tr><tr><td>Nerf screw or toy screw</td><td>-----</td><td>x1</td></tr><tr><td>Aluminum barrel (18in/45cm CHAMBERED is what I used)</td><td><a href="https://outofdarts.com/products/13mm-machined-aluminum-barrel-multiple-length-options?variant=32255529156650">Find it here</a></td><td>x1</td></tr><tr><td>muzzle mounting hardware (2 screws and nuts)</td><td>-----</td><td>x1</td></tr></tbody></table></figure><p>Print all the parts in the orientation depicted in the picture<strong> in PETG. PETG allows all the parts the flex and not break!!! </strong>I used <a href="https://www.3dfuel.com/">3D Fuel's</a> workday clear PETG but I would REALLY RECOMMEND <strong>PRINTING IN ORANGE OR HAVE AN ORANGE BARREL TIP!!!</strong></p><figure class="image"><img src="https://media.prusaprinters.org/media/prints/80895/rich_content/9074a41e-c1b5-4aa5-8c6f-35f6ca84c7d6/screen-shot-2021-10-16-at-52557-pm.png#%7B%22uuid%22%3A%2272f89eb5-7688-4759-87aa-e973b243a082%22%2C%22w%22%3A780%2C%22h%22%3A616%7D"></figure><p> </p>
