An upgraded design is now available, featuring enhanced spring and gear performance, a more delicate pawl, and o-ring tires for improved traction. The initial photograph showcases the actual prototype, while the second image is a screenshot from the CAD model. The third photograph highlights JersyBeast's customized knob (see UPDATES below). Assembly video can be found at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q_Jom7imnNw. A video of the prototype in action is available here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zo1t8SiTtTM. For JersyBeast's customized knob, please visit this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vIy25mTT5O0. To assemble this design, you will need two #18 o-rings (1 3/16" O.D., 15/16" I.D., 1/8" diameter) and two #111 o-rings (2 1/2" O.D., 2 1/8" I.D., 3/16" diameter), which can be purchased online or at plumbing supply stores. This design was created using Fusion 360, sliced with Cura 2.3.1, and printed in PLA on an Ultimaker 2+ Extended and Ultimaker 3 Extended. UPDATES: 1) Thingiverse member JersyBeast requested a revised knob design that is easier on the fingers. JersyBeast even provided a suggested design for this new version, which I have implemented and uploaded as "Knob and Axle (1).stl." Although I haven't tested it yet, I recommend printing it at 100% infill and being cautious not to over-tighten the spring using it as the spring or axle, as they could snap. 2) A printed and tested photograph and video of JersyBeast's customized knob are now available.
