This modification is designed for those who own bearings and trust in PLA's ability to fit smaller diameter bearings. Following the original instructions, I have successfully printed several items with this modification. The only hacky part involves a ball at the end of the bearing post; however, you can simply cut it off and place the bearing before sealing the cover by briefly heating the nozzle. Alternatively, you could perform a pseudo filament change after 82%, insert the bearing in place, unpause the job, and it will print without issues.
