The OD of the original spool shaft is 7.95, so why not? Bearing: 608RS*2
Pros:
·Compatible with spools with an inner diameter of 50mm to 55mm. (I measured several filament spools from different brands I own) · Compatible with spool up to 160mm deep. · Quick swap without take parts off · Very smooth rotation, self-balancing · Minimal bearing requirements ` Good impact resistance
Cons:
Depending on the material used to print the spring, the spring may soften after long-term use. However: The spring is easy to print and consumes very little material.
Printing:
Use brim for all parts ·After printing, cut off one or two layers from bottom of the spring for best results Keep the brim of the hub, which prevents the spring from being pushed out from the other side ·I printed this with PLA and it worked well, but theoretically ABS is more suitable for printing springs.
Assembly:
Before use, Press the spring several times to make it elastic. Future improvements: Thinner single-layer spring from 0.8mm to 0.4mm Add a larger slope on the left to make swap easier
