Spring loaded CNC mount for a Donek Drag Knife
thingiverse
A custom-made spring loaded CNC mount for my Donek drag knife. http://donektools.com/ To precision-cut paper for testing, I opted for a Donek Knife for my CNC machine - but unfortunately, the tool length and collection diameter didn't align with my CNC setup. Thus, this holder is designed to replace the router and fit seamlessly into the CNC machine. The spring-loaded feature ensures a secure grip on the uneven surface of my vacuum pad. Print Settings: Rafts: None Supports: None Infill: 40% Post-Printing Assembly Instructions: 1) Carefully insert the spring (7mm Ø, 0.8mm steel thickness and 15mm long) into the lid part. 2) Place the magnet (10X10X10 mm³) on top of the spring. 3) Securely fasten the lid, top plate, and CNC mount with six hex bolts directly screwed into the plastic of the CNC mount. 4) The holes for the knife shaft are designed with a snug fit, so re-drill them to ensure a precise fit for your knife shaft. I've found this step challenging on my printer, but it's essential for a secure assembly. 5) Mount the CNC and cut away! Optional: Drill a hole in the top of the lid over the spring for an optional bolt that can be used to increase spring tension.
