Attach bearings and a spring to a caliper for measuring filament between them. A mounting arm allows integration with filament winders or spool setups to assess size and deviation. Filament guidance is essential, as it may slip off bearings. An updated version features built-in guides and wider plate. Requires 4" Pittsburgh caliper from Harbor Freight, two 608 bearings, bolts, nuts, small screws, and a 1.5-inch spring. Mount part on fixed caliper jaw; smaller part goes on sliding part. Secure spring with superglue, ensuring bearing alignment for accurate measurements.
