Spring Clamp Hook

Spring Clamp Hook

I need a hook for things that don't work well on a traditional hook like gloves so I can hang them up to dry, I wanted something that I could use a single finger to “open”. I come up with this bypass design with enough stability so I can hold a object (e.g. glove) in one hand and reach up high on the wall with the other hand's pointer finger to hang it. The “jaws” have “teeth” for grip and there's ridges where you press to help prevent your finger from slipping off.

There's a screw hole that works great with M3.5 wood screws and should be great with #6 in the USA. You will want good strong attachment when you open the “jaws”. The screw hole is angled up a bit to allow the screw driver to pass through the bypass gap.

Fully parametric design with provided f3d so you can adjust the size and springiness. You can even adjust the springiness by changing the preload angle. If you are not familiar with Fusion 360, open the f3d file and press SHIFT-P for a list a parameters to adjust.

Print laying on it's side, it's obvious when you see it in the slicer. I built-in custom support for the high side bypass arm that just flicks away after printing.

Also, you can use some heat to adjust springiness after printing if you go slow.

Edit: Added THICKER version with more holding power
