Spot Colors using a Thing-O-Matic (Proof of Concept)

thingiverse

The project aimed to achieve spot colors on the same layers by "registering" the TOM. By printing a common outer plane that doesn't print, RepG can center all elements for registration. However, care must be taken to ensure the print head does not hit previously-printed areas. A business card was used as an example. The process involved manually zeroing the first color change after the base was printed and following a specific order for printing each color. The design required nine separate .stl files, with each file having a plane that doesn't print. After printing the base, subsequent colors were printed in a specified order while ensuring not to move the print head or re-zero between each color change.
