Human: Printed a solid model using soft PLA, starting with a smooth glass bed that I prepped by applying a thin coat of auto wax and scraping off any excess with a razor blade. The HD hair spray on top of the wax ensured an effortless release of the printed parts, especially for large flat prints. To enhance the adhesion of the brim corners and band ends during printing, I applied a small amount of crazy glue to these areas. This clever trick helps keep the parts securely in place when needed. The distinctive cross-hatch design on this model is achieved by using rectilinear infill with no top or bottom layer. To make the brim even more effective, I can simply submerge it in hot water to give it a bit of flexibility. Looking ahead, I'm planning to add a touch of felt to the inside of the brim band for added grip and stability. And if you want to take this model to the next level, you can also print it with TPU for even more flexibility. However, be prepared for some extra clean-up time afterwards.
