Sports Roller for Muscles and Foot Massage
thingiverse
My sports bag was too small for the sports roller I bought, and it wouldn't roll on the floor when I needed to use my foot. So, I took matters into my own hands and designed one myself. This sports roller is perfect for tossing into your sports bag and can also be used on the floor with your feet when necessary. The roller is incredibly strong thanks to its smooth 608 bearing action and isn't too big to fit into tight spaces that larger rollers can't reach. You have two options: the Spiky roller, shown in orange, or the Spheres roller, shown in purple. If you print one, be sure to post a "made" so I can see what other colors and designs people come up with. I printed mine using ABS plastic, which is supposed to be more resistant to oils and sweat that athletes often deal with. After over a year of use, mine still works like new and looks it too - the pictures are actually from my year-old roller, not brand-new ones. Here's what you'll need to print: * 2 handles * 2 end screw caps * 1 roller (either spiky or sphere) * 2-4 washers (depending on your printer and desired stiffness) * And the following parts can be found at most hardware stores: + A steel 8mm threaded rod, 320mm long + 2 M8 steel nuts + 2 608 bearings To assemble, follow the exploded view picture. The handle isn't threaded but still screws onto the steel bar, which gets locked into place by the M8 nuts at each end. Be prepared to give the bearings and M8 nuts a good push to get them in place.
