Sports Bot modeling and lighting were meticulously crafted in Z-Brush, with precise color correction achieved through Photoshop. The robot is comprised of 4-5 bespoke pieces, its legs being a mirrored component that adds an extra layer of complexity. I initiated the project by creating a fundamental sketch on paper as a guide for overall shapes and key features. Techniques employed include Topology Brush, Z-Modeler, Deformations-GroupPolish, Clay Polish tab, and Dynamesh – each playing a vital role in shaping the robot's intricate design. Through this sculpting experience, I gained valuable insights into the symbiotic relationship between Topo Brush and Z-Modeler, discovering that finding optimal normals angles and mastering extrude/bevel techniques yielded a reliable method for crafting multi-layered surfaces. This synergy will undoubtedly prove invaluable in future projects. Overall, working on Sports Bot was an exhilarating experience, and I'm thrilled to have had the opportunity to bring it to life!
