Sport Scale Vostok Nosecone for BT-50 (WIP)

April 12th marks the anniversary of Yuri Gagarin's pioneering orbital flight. In 2017, Cyberia in Indianapolis planned to distribute information about building scale models of the Vostok/R7 launch vehicle for Yuri's Night celebrations. One suggestion was to create a flying model rocket based on Peter Alway's plans, but unfortunately, these plans are no longer accessible online, and "The Art of Scale Model Rocketry" book is currently out of print. We had to abandon this idea, but if you have the book or can locate the online plans, this rough shape represents the nosecone for a BT-50, designed according to Peter Alway's original specifications. If the plans are not available, you can still purchase a kit from Dr. Zooch or a larger version from Cosmodrome Rocketry. While detail work is required to complete these kits accurately, I believe that the end result will be comparable to Peter Alway's original design. Some essential details to keep in mind when building this nosecone include: *This model will always be a Work in Progress due to the complexity of creating an accurate representation of the Vostok Rocket. No single print settings or model combination will perfectly replicate the original. *The tip requires filing down, as it should not be excessively sharp. *The neck is longer than necessary for the model, allowing for easier mounting and finishing. To achieve a more stable rocket, I recommend printing this nosecone with three shells and an infill of 70% or higher.
