Sport DV Action cam Goggle Housing

I actually got to use this last weekend at zero hour endgame in Troy NY. The video quality, while not quite on par with GoPro's, is really good for $20. I wanted an action cam for my paintball goggles but couldn't afford a GoPro and wasn't fond of how they looked mounted on the goggles. On eBay I found a $20 action cam that checked out okay in terms of quality on YouTube. It was good enough for what I needed it to do, so I decided to give it a try. I saw a housing made for a Contour cam that I thought was cool but too big, and then I stumbled upon the Sport DV cam which is smaller. The Sport DV cam's design inspired me to come up with my own version. It's more compact than the other housings I'd seen, and it has buttons on top that allow you to operate the action cam without having to remove it from the goggles. This housing also features two microphones - one in the front bottom with a water-resistant membrane and another in the back covered by a waterproof cap. Since I won't be submerging my camera, I left the cover off but encountered two problems: if a paintball hits the front of the housing it could damage it because that's where the SD card and switches are located; and the microphone picks up sound better from behind than in front. To solve these issues, I designed a chamber and tube to channel sound from the front to the back of the cam. There's also a removable cover for accessing the SD card and charge port. The housing comes with two spacers - one with more angle than the other - so you can position the camera upright due to the shape of your mask.
