I designed a spool holder for Joel's 3D printing enthusiast filament rack. The basic spool holder can be mounted by clipping the mount over two wooden lumber pieces. Then you should slide the 1 kg spool holder onto the dovetails. You can replace it with the 5 kg spool holder or the L-mount. At the end of the L-mount, there's another dovetail connection to slide the first 1 kg spool holder onto. I aimed for a spool holder that would have several key features: one that is strong and stiff, easily mountable, mountable under a spool without needing space between them, with different holder positions, normal or L-shape, able to hold different spools from 1-5 kg, no extra materials or tools needed, no threaded parts for beginners who may struggle to print them, and most importantly, no need for supports.
