Spoolholder for ANET Printer
thingiverse
We crafted this spool holder specifically for the ANET A3 printer, moving away from a thread rod design that proved to be a bit of a rough idea and presented several issues. Removing the printed plastic X had loosened the rod on multiple occasions, and once the rod was tightened in an incorrect position, it hindered Z travel. We took this as an opportunity to redesign around the three existing holes drilled around the main rod hole; these are roughly 3mm in diameter, so we expanded them to 4.8mm or 3/16 inch and used M5.0 x15mm screws, which didn't require nuts but added a safety measure for peace of mind. This is a straightforward solution, so good luck with it if you decide to use it.
