Spool Winder and also universal stands for spools
thingiverse
Here is my simple spool winder, including a universal stand for holding the spool during printing. I use this winder frequently because I often purchase very affordable filament, and the biggest problem is that the small spools the filament comes on are difficult to manage. If you mount the spool directly to the printer, it commonly happens that the filament jumps off the spool and gets stuck somewhere. That's why I transfer the filament to a "standard" larger spool, and everything works smoothly. Here's a video of the winder in action: https://youtu.be/bAeq6FQi_S4 The motor used is available on eBay at this link: https://ebay.us/Ab00Vw. I use the 3.5 RPM setting, which may seem slow, but you can see it in the video. You can adjust the motor speed by reducing the voltage. If you have any questions or need an additional adapter for your motor, please don't hesitate to ask! The universal spool holder is designed by DM4DS and is also available on Thingiverse: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2950910 To assemble this winder, you'll need the following parts: * 2 x M3 screws (I use M3x16) * 2 x M3 nuts * 1 for the knob, and one for the axle (if you're using a motor, you won't need the knob)
