Spool Stand - 1lb Taulman / 127x51x19mm spools - Nylon Print
thingiverse
This is a basic stand I designed using Tinkercad. I built it to be printed on a Monoprice Select Mini 3D printer with Taulman 645 Nylon filament. The spool used for modeling the build was the 127x51x19mm Taulman 1lb spool shown in the picture. My print settings are listed below. Edit 2017-11-19 : I've been experimenting with different materials and plan to update this project in the future using improved material mixes and machine settings to reduce difficulty and cost. The original reason for making it entirely out of nylon was that all I had on hand at the time was the nylon 645 roll shown. Notes: This pushes the Monoprice Select Mini v2 to its limits, with maximum temperature settings used and print speeds exceeding machine specifications. Nylon is very slippery, so when mounted correctly, the spool should spin fast and smoothly. The nylon will cause strings and create "whiskers". Use a sharp blade or scissors carefully to remove any excess material. The spool support bar prints in the middle of the job and straddles the thin base supports. After printing, it needs to be gently removed from around the base supports.
