Spool spindles for use with 3x6x2mm bearings
pinshape
Summary Large is approximately 45mm in center diameter. Basic is approximately 21mm in center diameter. Both have 2.5mm lips on the end to hold the spool in place, so the hole in your spools needs to be at least 5mm larger than the center diameter. Two spool spindles are designed for filament and can be used with a piece of 3 mm tubing, as well as 3mm(inner) x 6mm (outer) x 2mm (thick) bearings. These bearings are commonly used on RC aircraft. Both designs require no support or inner structure to save filament and print time. The smaller one is solid caps, while the larger one has four legs on top that are arced for easy printing. My printer isn't large enough (M3D printer), so I cut some legs out of scrap plywood. I had to knife out the bearing openings slightly due to my printer's high backlash. However, if using a better printer, the result should be close and might even require padding.
